The ISC Experience

In addition to the ISC’s top-level soccer competition, the week will be filled with a diverse range of experiences.

College/University Preparation Workshops will be provided for all ISC participants to help develop their educational & career goals. Coaches and chaperones will serve as mentors in this process.

Soccer Skills Sessions: College soccer coaches will conduct special soccer skills sessions with ISC participants, emphasizing tactics and skills development.

Life and Leadership Skills Workshops will be led by Dr. Clayton Small (Northern Cheyenne), a community and youth leadership practitioner whose work is renowned across Indian Country. Dr. Small will lead participants through themes of prevention, wellness, leadership, creating positive change and teambuilding.

NMSU and Las Cruces, NM: All ISC activities will be based at New Mexico State University in the beautiful Mesilla Valley town of Las Cruces, New Mexico. The state of New Mexico is home to a diverse Native American population of over 200,000 people representing many Indigenous cultures, including the Navajo and Apache nations and the 19 New Mexico Pueblo Tribes.
